May I take your blood pressure, please?

Aloha!

How we dearly miss our family and friends! Thank you so much for being a part of this ministry that God is developing from both near and far. Yes, we say it often-but the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven to earth takes every one of us. We play only a very small part but you, dear friends, are the backbone, praying us through the joys and challenges of each new day!

A lot of what I (Amie) will be sharing with you over the next 6 months will be what God is teaching me through midwifery training and every day life here on the island.

Day 2 of training today brought some new words from the Father, encouragement from staff and classmates, getting to examine a placenta (woo-hoo, Jessica-I thought of you! And not because you have multiple children, ha. Because of your interest!) learning to take blood pressure, and so much more. I am needing 10 blood pressure readings by Friday so if anyone is in the mood to visit and offer me your arm…nows the time! 🙂

We were given some time this morning to focus on this season of our lives. Why God has us here, what gives us life, What do we value, what are we reaching for, what about us delights the Lord, and some of the promises from God for our lives. I want to specifically talk about the affections God has for us. The last few months have been so hectic, I really have not had a lot of time to process what we are learning and doing. I was feeling some discouragement, frustration, and searching for the passion that God has placed in my heart. God spoke to me this morning, saying that yes, His affections are for me. Joy comes in the morning. He wants us to have Life to the fullest. Take time to breathe. Delight again in the things of God and in my family. A sense of peace was restored and a reminder that I don’t have to have it all figured out. But just to take joy in what He is doing and what He is done. Walk forward with courage! So good. 🙂

Looking forward to tomorrow, when we are going to be shadowing in the clinic as our instructor teaches a variety of skills in real-life situations! Off to finish up some homework, check my kiddos schoolwork, make dinner, dream big dreams, and walk with a big God!

Please pray for:

Ability to retain lots of info.

Loving each other big!

Peace in spite of obstacles. That we embrace as preparation.

May His Kingdom come,

Amie
