April Update

Hi Friends!

Its been a while since I have updated. Hoping to get into a better habit of blogging for you all! This will be the main way we share and connect while we are out of the country and we want to be consistent in doing so! We love you all and are so deeply grateful you have chosen to walk with us in this journey. It is not only our journey with Jesus, but we are all in this life, on this journey together. It excites me to think about!! There is much to share so I will get started. 🙂

At the end of March, we visited Childrens Hospital in Little Rock for Brynlees last visit! Many of you know that Bryn had major reconstructive surgery on her skull at 8 months of age and we have maintained yearly checkups since. We have officially been released, which is awesome. We weren’t sure how to continue the yearly visits as we will be 1000’s of miles from the hospital! We spent a few days in Little Rock and enjoyed some educational time at the zoo! Finding a somewhat hidden Asian market was one of the highlights of the trip. The girls could get an idea of what some of the markets may be like overseas. 🙂 I unfortunately missed getting a picture of the whole duck hanging that they insisted on not bringing home for dinner!

Last weekend, we were fortunate to have a chance to visit the campus of Beautiful Feet. If you are not familiar with Beautiful Feet, you can visit their site here:

Beautiful Feet

We are now officially listed on the missionary support page with Beautiful Feet! I will go more into that later but back to our weekend…we were able to take a few days to visit the campus for the premiere of a documentary about a wonderful ministry, Vision of Destiny. This ministry exists to assist children and families in restoring hope to their families. They are helping children grow into a generation of leaders that loves and serves the Lord. They desire to provide free quality Christian education to orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda. We invite you to also visit their site and consider supporting them as they begin construction on their new school this year.

Vision of Destiny

We had a wonderful time getting to know Cari Nash, who first began Vision of Destiny, and her kiddos, who are here for a while in the states. Brynlee loved playing with her new friends from Uganda! :)Skyllar, Cadyn, and Brynlee are so free whenever we are on campus. They just really seem to enjoy being right in the present, playing and getting to know their friends better, Every time we visit the Beautiful Feet campus, we come home refreshed and renewed. Knowing that we will be spending 2 months on campus, learning, growing, being stretched…its so exciting!

Which brings me to my final news for this update! We have been officially accepted into missionary boot camp for the months of July and August this summer. Beautiful Feet boot camp is an intense time of training that exists to prepare missionaries for life on the field. Not only will Nate and I go through our own training, but there will be special training for the girls that will help prepare them for life overseas as missionaries. Soon after our time in boot camp training, we will join a mission team in a developing nation for a two year contextual training on the field. Within these two years, I am also hoping to gain training as a midwife to serve developing nations.

We are now listed on the support page of Beautiful Feet. We are officially starting the “75 campaign.” We are looking for 75 people to pledge $25 per month to help cover our first year expenses overseas. We are so excited to come along side one another in the kingdom, both prayerfully and financially, and look forward to seeing what God is wanting to do through our yeses. Please pray about how you can be a part of our work as we train and follow the breadcrumbs! Our deposit for midwife training needs to be paid July 1st to hold our spot, which coincidentally is also our first day of boot camp! If you would like to give monthly or even just a one time donation you can visit the Beautiful Feet donate page:

Find our names under “Individual Support” and choose #0321 Nate and Amie Renard. Beautiful Feet is registered in the United States as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. All donations are tax deductible.

Loving the journey with you!
